A lot of people love wearing hair extensions, but a lot of people don’t know how to take care of extensions. I know that the extensions on my site can’t seem a little pricey but it’s an investment before anything. And because I carry high quality hair and I want you to benefit from your purchase here are some steps to help maintain the longevity of your investment.
Step 1 : Washing First- make sure you detangle before shampooing. I generally like to use the same products on extensions that I use on my clients, so naturally, I would say go for a shampoo free of sulfate silicone and parabens.
Wet your human hair extensions bit by bit to prevent tangling using a downward motion when shampooing and rinsing them.
You can, of course, follow up with a wide-toothed comb in case they start to knot but you must be gentle because you don’t want to rip the hair from the weft of the extension.
Step 2 : Using conditioner: The same method you just used to shampoo the extensions is also going to be the same method that you used to condition the extensions. You want to use that same downward motion with either a wide tooth comb or your fingers to keep the hair detangled whole applying conditioner.
Step 3 : Dry naturally: I always try to stress how detrimental excessive heat is to human hair extensions. Even though this step is generally omitted by most clients, I can definitely say that the less heat you use, the longer your extensions will last. If you shampoo and condition your extensions at night letting them dry dry shouldn’t be a problem.
Step 4: Blow dry carefully Use a low-heat setting to dry bonds and surrounding hair first then style/dry the rest of your human hair extensions as usual
Step 5 : Cover your hair with a net or sleeping cap before going to bed This will protect your extensions, and keep them from getting frizzy or tugged out while you sleep. I was suggest a satin lined sleeping cap or a satin/silk pillowcase.
Step 6 : Care your hair extension regularly. Even with the best quality hair extensions, you still need care them regularly . So that, they will last for long time
